Connecting with Canisius: Game Plan: A Discussion with Bill Maher '89
Join Canisius College Director of Athletics Bill Maher ’89 for an interactive discussion about our Golden Griffin Athletic program. Bill will share an overview of our 20 NCAA DI intercollegiate programs, their impact on campus, and what lies ahead for the program that has been a part of Canisius for over 100 years. He will discuss the recently completed Collegiate Consulting Operational review and how Canisius is dealing with the issues that result from the NCAA’s shifting landscape. Former Golden Griffin baseball player and current Alumni Association Board Member Andrew Russo ‘11 will moderate the Q&A session of the program.

Bill Maher
Director of Athletics @Canisius College
Bill Maher, a graduate of Canisius College, officially took over the Golden Griffin athletic department on July 1, 2005. He returned to Main Street after spending seven years in various athletic administration roles at the University at Buffalo, including a stint as the Bulls’ Interim Athletic Director from 2003-05. Since Maher took over at Canisius, the 20 varsity athletic programs have won 45 conference or regional championships, with a number of teams producing the best seasons in program history.
Andrew Russo
Major Account Sales Manager @ComDoc, Inc.
Andrew is a graduate and former student-athlete in the baseball program at Canisius. He graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in Finance. He also holds a Master's in Sports Administration from Canisius and completed his degree while serving as a graduate assistant baseball coach. Andrew is still active around campus as a member of the Alumni Board and is an adjunct professor within the Sports Product Development Master's Program. He works for ComDoc, A Xerox Company as a Major Account Sales Manager in the Buffalo Branch. Andrew lives in Clarence with his wife Carolyn and son Bennett.
